Program Description

The Residency Program supports international and US-based emerging and mid-career artists, creating an international artistic dialogue and exchange. Residents are offered individual studio spaces and professional development through studio visits, artist talks, workshops, and lectures. As a studio based residency, the focus is on practice within the studio and the experimentation and exploration that results from creating new work. Residency artists benefit from our community driven program and the ongoing dialogue between fellow residency artists. As part of the Residency, NARS offers 24/7 access to furnished, private or shared studio spaces (250 – 300 sq ft) in our diverse artist community in Sunset Park, Brooklyn. As a studio based residency, the focus is on the artistic process and the experimentation that results from working alongside other artists, within New York’s cultural and sociopolitical context.
