Eligibility

Emerging and established artists of all disciplines are welcome to apply to this residency. Green Olive Arts holds a broad definition of “artist” to include many types of creative production – this particular residency may appeal to those who work in painting, drawing, mixed media, music, dance, writing, printmaking, textile arts, sculpture, design, photography, video, installation art, and many other forms. The studio is equipped with a printmaking press, and a full wood shop of tools for production needs. Experienced staff and local volunteers are available to assist with translation, connections in the community, and production logistics.

Program Description

An immersive, 4 week, themed art residency at Green Olive Arts in Tetouan, Morocco, calling artists from a broad spectrum of creative practices and cultural backgrounds to intensify and enrich their creative practice by immersing in a city where east layers with west, modern resonates with ancient, and cultures converge. Dates: March 19 to April 15, 2020. Applicants must submit an application, a project proposal, CV, portfolio of recent works, artist statement, application fee and complete an interview. Cost: 44,000 MAD (approx. $4700 USD). Includes private hotel, 2 meals/day, airport transfer, in-country travel, tours, and shared studio space, with access to equipment, furniture, tools, secure wifi, on-site assistance and program coordination, translation, local volunteers and the resources needed to create new works.
