Eligibility

The announcement is open to a wide range of performative actions, also including sound and new media arts, text-based performances, lecture performances, multimedia storytelling, choreographic practices, relational and workshop-based projects, and other projects questioning the idea of performativity beyond the body. Artists and professionals from any geographic location and with no age limits can enter the announcement, as individuals or in groups, with a single project. The open call only accepts unpublished or long-term projects that need to be developed and/or concluded, for which participation would represent an evolution of the project or its final chapter.

The call is open to artists and cultural professionals from any geographic location, with no age restrictions. Applications may be submitted individually or collectively, and each applicant or group may present one project only.

Program Description

Curated by Barbara Boninsegna, Artistic Director and co-founder of Centrale Fies, and Simone Frangi, researcher, critic, and curator, LIVE WORKS selects six projects for a multi-phase residency and research programme. Each selected project receives a €3,000 fellowship, participation in the Kick Off Seminar (17–19 July 2026), a 15-day individual residency at Centrale Fies, and a collective residency in summer 2027 during Live Works Summit 2027. Focused on hybrid and expanded performance practices, LIVE WORKS understands performance as a workspace for artistic, social, and cultural inquiry. The programme supports research, development, and production, and the resulting works will be presented at Centrale Fies during Live Works Summit 2027.
