Eligibility

Applications will be evaluated by a jury according to the following criteria: - The artistic quality of the application - The relevance of the proposed project in relation to the theme of Place Publique 2019; - The proposed contribution of the candidate to the Montreal artistic community; - Application completed and sent before January 10, 2019 (guidelines for applications are available on the application form or on our website).

Program Description

The Darling Foundry is holding a call for applications for international artists wishing to complete a four month residency in Montreal while developping a project linked to the the programming of Place Publique. Conceived as an area of collective development and exhcnage since 2007, Place Publique has served as a public meeting place around art, where a section of Ottawa street is reclaimed by artists and citizens. The residency includes: - Return flight ticket up to $1500 CAD; - A live-in studio at the Darling Foundry for four months, from May 1 to August 25, 2019; - An artists fee of $4000 CAD; - A per diem of $300 CAD per week; - A production budget, to be determined according to the project proposed; - Logistical and technical assistance leading up to and during events; - Supervision, networking, meetings, excursions, etc.
