Program Description
Pocoapoco hosts four, five-week residencies each year. Residents work independently on proposed projects or research and come together Mon- Friday for meals. To further the interdisciplinary exchange that is at the core of our work, residents share their work or practice at various points throughout their stay. This includes brief resident presentations the first weeks; a required short workshop, class or presentation open to the public during the fourth week; and an open house the last weekend of the residency. Our residency is bilingual — everything is translated in English and Spanish but we ask that ALL international residents arrive with a minimal knowledge of Spanish. We are less focused on residents’ capability to produce or execute, and more so on the thoughtful process and purpose from which they are doing so.
