Eligibility

Artists from all over the world are welcome. We accept artists from all disciplines; visual artists, writers, designers, architects, curators, illustrators, etc. As long as you come to make art! You can work self-directed in and around the estate, join group activities and receive extra guidance from the owners. In the residency we commonly house professional artists seeking: - an artistic refuge where you can develop new ideas or concepts in full focus - time to create new work for a show - to expand their international artistic network - time for retrospection on your position in the art world

Program Description

Mas els Igols is an artist oasis created for independent artists that want to dedicate their time to produce art in a highly focused creative environment. The residency is situated in the vineyards of wine area 'Pènedes' some 60 km from Barcelona city centre. Our artistic family dedicates time and love to create a safe, homely and optimized creative environment for artists. Openness is holy; to all ideas, to all species of artists from all over the world, about who we are and the way - big studio space (you share approximately 40 m2 with one other artist) - access to a silkscreen and ceramics studio (with guidance) - private room - welcome dinner if you arrive the first of the month - shared kitchen, living room and outdoor spaces - weekly art excursion or activity - weekly drive to the supermarket - two weekly group critique - possibility to join group exhibitions in the house or in Barcelona city
