Eligibility

Viaggio in Italia, Come to Italy with me is a one-year university master program on photography that explores the journey as an educational model, a way of growth and experimentation. It is organized as a series of residencies designed together with guest photographers, institutions, professionals and local partners. The journey starts in Venice, at the Iuav University, and continues across the Italian peninsula. To be admitted to the program, it is necessary to have one of the following qualifications: an Italian bachelor’s degree – laurea triennale – or an old-order degree, or a Bachelor’s degree obtained out of Italy considered equivalent to the Italian qualification (with a certificate of comparability issued by CIMEA, see the following link http://www.iuav.it/INTERNATIO/APPLICATIO/Get-Ready-/internatio/cimea/index.htm).

Students from past editions have different backgrounds such as architecture, design, visual arts, literature, engineering and others.

Program Description

The Master in Photography proposes itself as a new kind of educational model exploring the journey as a way of growth and experimentation. Now in its seventh edition, Viaggio in Italia is organized as a series of residencies across the Italian territory, designed and structured together with the guest photographers, institutions, professionals and local partners, professionals and local partners. Students are guided through workshops and field exercises in order to acquire and consolidate the tools and technical notions necessary for the photographer’s profession. The aim of the project is to construct a program that traverses distinct and distant places, to reinforce the relationship with the context and the social landscape of Italy: the residencies contribute to the definition and search for a new shared consciousness of the territories crossed and of the practices constituting their particularities.
