Local Information

We are located in Averill Park, a small hamlet within the town of Sand Lake, a 25-minute drive from Albany, New York. The surrounding country is a bucolic retreat, a different pace of life from the city. Locals spend the weekend at the racetracks, exploring the farmers markets, enjoying the surrounding lakes, or seeking out treasures at the many yard and estate sales. Averill Park is close to Albany and Troy – both with interesting urban fabrics to explore – and a quick hour drive from Mass MOCA, Art OMI Outdoor Sculpture park, DIA:Beacon, Storm King, and the towns of the Hudson. There is much to draw from this wonderful little town nestled between Vermont’s backcountry, the Hudson River Valley, and the Berkshires. Our facilities are a collection of spaces that are also participants: their transformation is ongoing and their uses are continually being re-imagined. The Mill, The House on the Hill, The Barn and Grounds, all of which are walking distance from one another.
