Open Call
The Sable Project Guest Artist-In-Residence
The Sable Project
Eligibility
The Guest Artist Residency is for professional individual artists or groups of artists looking for a shorter residency opportunity to work on a specific project, start a new creative endeavor, or put the finishing touches on a work. If you are seeking a residency where you have a pristine studio and all day completely to yourself to focus on your craft, this may not be for you. But if you want to be outdoors, collaborate, form community, and live in a tent, this just may be the perfect fit! You will need to fill out the application on our website, as well as submit a website of your work, or a CV along with examples of your work.
Number of Participants
There will be between 6-12 artists at the land at any given time between June-August. In addition, a group of 2-4 Sable Team Members live and work at the land, and will be there to help with the everyday needs of the resident artists.

Program Description
Residencies are 2 days - 2 weeks from June through August. Residency fee is $10/day per individual. The Sable Project is designed to unleash creativity by removing the usual obstacles that keep artists from creating- space, time, and supplies- while providing new influences in an inspiring environment. By placing our Artists in an off-grid living situation that is usually an extreme departure from their normal lives (that means no electricity, internet or even cell phone service), we aim to challenge them, break down routine creative habits, and offer the opportunity to build up new and exciting processes instead. This project takes those involved out of their comfort zone, asks them to work in innovative ways, and engage deeply with their surroundings. Guest Artists are asked to teach a workshop and/or present their work either in a public or private forum. Residencies range from 2 days to 2 weeks in length, and can happen anytime June through August.
