Program Description

The institute encourages its artists-in-residency to develop their practices in depth and in breadth by providing them with the time, space, facilities, and expertise required to further expand their research and spheres of interest. Once selected, each participant can make use of a monthly stipend and an annual production budget, a private studio, the Jan van Eyck Library and Labs: Food, Material Matters, Photography & Audiovisual, Printing & Publishing, Future Materials, departments – Nature Research, Art & Society and Research & Education. The participants are also guided and supported by (guest) advisers and staff, can take part in shaping the public programme, dive into collaborative projects, and experimentation.
