Program Description
Debuted at the 2019 Taiwan Lantern Festival in Pingtung, Khai-Káng is a new multi-purpose creative hub situated in a Japanese-style heritage house located in a cultural & creative village in Pingtung. The objective of Khai-Káng is to bring people together and provide a fun and unique platform for artistic & cultural exchange. Khai-Káng provides accommodation and studio space free of charge (for a limited time only). Artists are responsible for all other costs including personal living expenses, transport/travel costs, art supplies, and insurance. Duration of residency is flexible (for at least one month). Artists receive professional support and networking opportunities. Resident artists are expected to present their work in a format of their choice, such as an artist talk and/or exhibition. In addition, artists are required to leave work(s) behind for the permanent collection of Khai-Káng.
