Eligibility

We invite artists, photographers, musicians, filmmakers, writers, curators, and researchers to apply for 2019 DE-CONSTRUKT residency opportunities for March/April We provide a space to develop new ideas, create temporal work and encouragement to form new networks. All participants must either make a public event in Red Hook or work with the neighborhood directly. We will work with each resident to organize their event and will publicize it in our newsletter and social media. All applicants must fill out our online application and pay the $20 application fee as stated on the application.

Program Description

Live, work and engage with the local community of Red Hook, Brooklyn at our studio DE-CONSTRUKT. Share a beautiful spacious 2600 sq. ft. loft with beautiful skylights, a photography darkroom, art book library, wet sinks, and event space. Private fully-furnished bedrooms, one with a separate studio, with shared bathroom and kitchen. Accessible on-street parking and roof access with a view of Manhattan. Artists are required to stay at least 2 weeks. Please note two-week residencies make it difficult to organize events due to the short time frame. If you would like to make an event at our studio we suggest staying​ for 1 month or longer.
