Eligibility

Ey!Studio AiR is open to visual artists, filmmakers, curators, researchers, writers, playwrights, musicians, and other professionals working in contemporary culture and creative practices. Applicants of any nationality and age are welcome. We accept projects from a wide range of disciplines and contemporary practices, including interdisciplinary and experimental approaches. Applicants may apply individually with an existing project, a project in development, or a research-based proposal that they would like to develop during their residency in Madrid. The program is open to both emerging and established practitioners. Applications are evaluated on an ongoing basis, taking into consideration the quality and relevance of the proposed project, the applicant’s artistic or professional practice, and the availability of residency places. There are no specific educational or academic requirements. Working languages are Spanish and English.

Number of Participants

Up to 3 residents with accommodation can stay at Ey!Studio at the same time. These residents have full access to the space from Monday to Sunday. In addition, the shared multipurpose workspace can accommodate up to 4 artists without accommodation at the same time. These artists use the space from Monday to Friday during the established opening hours and arrange their own accommodation in Madrid. Therefore, the maximum number of artists in residence at the same time is 7: 3 residents with accommodation and 4 residents without accommodation.

Program Description

Ey!Studio AiR offers residencies of 4, 8, or 12 weeks in Madrid, providing artists and cultural professionals with time, space, and a supportive environment to develop their projects. The program offers two formats: Live/Work Residency: up to 3 residents can stay in private studios of approximately 18 m², designed as both living and working spaces. Residents have full access to the space from Monday to Sunday. Studio Residency: up to 4 artists can work simultaneously in the shared multipurpose workspace, with an individual working area of approximately 12 m². This option does not include accommodation. Artists use the workspace from Monday to Friday during established opening hours and arrange their own accommodation in Madrid. Participants can work independently or opt for optional curatorial support. Visual artists and filmmakers may also voluntarily participate in Ey!Studio’s annual group exhibition of residents, held a few months after the completion of the residencies.
