Program Description
The Sable Project started as a forested piece of land near a mountain called Sable, and an idea to bring creative people together. Our program is off-the-grid! We live in the woods in Vermont’s Green Mountains, and there is no electricity or wifi. Our residents have the entire Sable Land as their playground/studio for the duration of their stay. Sable can be a place to deepen your art practice, spark collaborations with fellow residents, & unplug from distractions in the way only living truly off-grid can offer. Sable is a uniquely community-oriented residency. All of our studio spaces are communally shared, and artists get to connect deeply with the other members of their cohort. All meals are provided and each day ends with a communal style dinner. Each residency culminates in our bi-weekly Food & Art Fridays public event, where artists are welcome (but not required) to share their work and connect with the local Vermont community.
