Program Description

Artist-in-Residence Taipei (AIR Taipei) is managed by the Department of AIR, Taipei Culture Foundation. 2024 AIR Taipei Open Call provides an artist-in-residence site – Treasure Hill Artist Village (THAV), a historical community located along the Xindian River. Treasure Hill was listed in 2011 as the first “historic settlement” of Taipei City. Responding to the City government’s policy of preservation and revitalization, the AIR Taipei program hopes to achieve a spirit of ‘symbiosis’ with the living history and local residents, as well as support an inspiring environment for creators. The program aligns with international artist-in-residence sites, provides artists from both Taiwan and abroad with residence opportunities, and forms an open platform that also acts as a web of solid, international connections, drawing in diverse communities and cultures in various disciplines to exchange and broaden each other’s perspectives.
