Eligibility

Jobel selections are based on the strength of the artist’s existing body of work, the perceived relevance and compatibility of the creative project(s) and inquiries being proposed and an evaluation of the likelihood of the artist achieving success and satisfaction in the environment that’s been created at Jobel. We welcome candidates from differing age groups and with varying backgrounds and systems of belief. A reasonably coherent project proposal or, alternatively, an interesting concept for an investigation or experiment is usually well received. Also, a submission package that evidences commitment and depth of development and direction within one’s practice will tend to be viewed more favorably than a broad survey or sampling of capabilities. Panelists also tend to appreciate brevity and focus in applicants’ responses to the questions on the application form.

Program Description

The project The project is to stimulate the creation of live performances to be offered in theaters or squares in central Italy. The mission is to bring new artistic forms to raise awareness about the global challenges of our time. We will privilege the creation of shows that can be enjoyed by all types of public, able to overcome linguistic and socio-cultural barriers. We firmly believe that our mission as artists is to stimulate people to make a radical change. We will explore new languages ​​together, to try to convey this urgency as directly as possible. We will encourage artists to address these issues, stimulating discussion, to achieve a common goal. We make our experience available to resident artists; we will share with them the studies done over the years to develop increasingly effective techniques together.
