Eligibility

When receive the different application resumes, we select the suitable applicants according to the following aspects:1.Whether you have the excellent artistic expression and creativity. Whether your core idea is matched with its expression method. Moreover, a rich and complete collection is competitive. 2. Whether you have a previous understanding and research of the urban environment and the community environment where you apply for residency. And whether you present a project plan with combinating your creation context. 3.The content and achievements of your creation have more publicity and localization, and you can integrate with the local city and people better in order to present a very dynamic work.

Number of Participants

For individual artist and duo's artists, final we will choose around 10-12 artists, curators and researchers

Program Description

Since the project was formally initiated in April 2013, A4’s artist in residence international exchange program has given many artists, curators, and designers from China and abroad the opportunity to exchange and interact with one another. It has also encouraged innovative artists and artist groups with contributions to public knowledge to carry out participatory projects that intervene in the community or city. The international residency’s locally based production, exchange, and exhibitions strengthen cultural exchange and academic dialogue between the institution and its surroundings. Based in the local community, Luxelakes•A4 Art Museum not only provides exemplary academic support, it also coordinates events and discussions during the duration of the residency, making it possible for participants to expand, diversify, and deepen their artistic practices.
