The call is for artists and art researchers from around the world, who are interested in reflecting on the potential of aesthetics and poetics in ecological and environmental processes, as well as introducing themselves in futuristic theories. Program Description

The next residency at Casa Giap will take place in San Cristobal de Las Casas from July 22 to 31 and it will be coordinated by GIAP (Research group in art and politics) and TJ Demos (University of California – Santa Cruz). The program includes seminars with GIAP (Research Group in Art and Politics), Professor TJ Demos, and local guests. It will involve some field trips (one towards the interior of the forest, at a site of environmental/social interest) and many other activities, such as meetings with Mayan artists. It covers: – Program of seminars, talks and meetings – 11 nights accommodation (with kitchen and wifi) – Access to media library and GIAP’s art collection – Transfers outside the city – Some food and coffee break between sessions.
