One artist will receive a stipend as per our organizational W.A.G.E. certification, and will have access to Materials for the Arts to source materials. They will have access to one Kingsland Wildflowers rooftop in Greenpoint as an alternative space to interrogate the notion of "Art Space" as well as challenge audience members to consider art presentation beyond the traditional white walled space. The artist will have 1 month to create a work of art in the natural garden rooftop space, followed by 1 artwork in conversation with this piece in a traditional gallery setting. They will have the first months of spring to bring this to fruition, with inspiration from the blooming flowers, butterflies and birds all around them. The artist will present programming to the public, and will have professional development and mentoring. The artist will be interviewed and will have their installations filmed for a vlog series for virtual presentations.
