Eligibility

Green Olive Arts, Tetouan, offers 3 or 6 week-long, self-directed, artist-funded residencies to emerging and established visual artists, writers, scholars and other global creatives seeking a season of focused research and production in the rich context of Moroccan culture. To be eligible for consideration, applicants must submit the online application form, CV, portfolio of recent works, artist statement, application fee and complete an interview … Incomplete applications will not be considered. We are currently taking applications for the following residency periods: WINTER 2020 – January 13 – February 22, 2020: 3 or 6 week resourced, self-directed residencies: 3 weeks, January 13 – February 1, OR February 3 – 22 6 weeks, January 13 - February 22 FALL 2020 – September 14 – October 24, 2020: 3 or 6 week resourced, self-directed residencies: 3 weeks, September 14 – October 3 OR October 5 – 24 6 weeks, September 14 – October 24

Program Description

Our mission: Green Olive Arts’ mission is to resource creative individuals of both emerging and established artistic talent from around the world in seasons of inspiration, production, collaboration and exchange here in the rich context of Moroccan culture. We invite artists from a wide range of disciplines and mediums to apply for residencies of 3 or 6 weeks in length during our open seasons. Artists enjoy access to secure internet, computer with printer/scanner, woodshop, printmaking studio, a range of artist furniture, connection with local craftsmen and materials suppliers, networking with local artists and gatekeepers, local volunteer assistants, in-studio consulting and assistance by our founding artists, culminating program exhibition space and promotion. Artists are encouraged to engage the local community as part of their residency through workshops, performances, readings, round tables, and collaboration to bridge cultures and nurture innovation.
