Can Serrat Art Residency


Eligibility
This open call invites all themes and mediums. Selected residents will have time and space to work on their projects while they are in residence at Can Serrat. The jury has 3 main criteria for evaluating the applications: Singularity of the proposal. Relevance the proposal has in relation to the Can Serrat program/context and to the notion of community. The feasibility and sustainability of the project. HOW DO I APPLY? APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS Fill in the FORM you can find on the application link We will also ask you to upload a .PDF This document should include: A video* (3 min max) or a series of images* (5 max) that show/talk about your work. Short description of the project you expect to carry out while at Can Serrat (500 words max). Artist statement (you can share information about your process, contextualize your interests, and/or speak about your current area of research.) (200 words max). Resumé (1 pg max). Link to website if relevant
Number of Participants
STIPENDS/INVITATIONS The jury will select 21 proposals to be apart of the contemporary art program for winter-spring 2024. The breakdown of the stipends and invitations will be the following: 1 full invitation for up to 3 months 20 partial invitations #1 (see costs below)

Program Description
CONDITIONS Full Invitation Expectations regarding availability: You are invited to stay for up to 3 months, although we understand if you need to come and go during that time for work, research, etc. Please have in mind that the total amount of time on site should be a minimum of 2 months total. If you are unable to be available for the time specified, the full grant will be considered for another candidate, and we recommend that you apply for a partial stipend. Living conditions: We will provide half board, some prepared meals, and a private room. Partial Invitation Expectations regarding availability: The duration of the residency is a minimum of one month. Residency cycles and programming begin during the first week of each month. Prices: Cost of a shared room is 775,50*€/month (maximum of 3 people/room). Cost of a private room is 1135,50€*/month. *These prices are per person and are subject to some variation according to the Consumer Price Index.
